Psychotherapy in California

About Lilly (she/her/hers):

I graduated from California State University Long Beach with a Bachelors in Human Development and a minor in Sociology. From there, I pursued my Masters in Social Work at Boston University. The social work field aligns with my interest and desire to see the whole individual, taking into account identities, family upbringing, and systems of oppression that can shape a person’s psyche and overall well-being. During my field work, I focused on working with families and youth in the Boston community, as well as older adults in geriatric psychiatry inpatient and outpatient settings. After completing my MSW in 2016, I worked at a community mental health non-profit working with younger to middle-aged adults, supporting them in accessing various services to support their recovery and mental-health wellness. Missing my Californian roots, I returned to the West Coast in 2019, invigorated to start my journey working as a therapist in the Bay Area.

I am dedicated to providing empathetic, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and LGBTQ+ affirming care to my clients. Experiencing the benefits of therapy myself has been critical in influencing how I work. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with compassion and feel more empowered through therapy.

Some of my personal interests include dancing, singing and music, being in nature, travel, social justice, and spiritual practices.

I acknowledge that I work and reside on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Chochenyo Ohlone peoples, who are the original inhabitants of Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area. As a non-Indigenous person occupying this land, I pay Shuumi Land Tax as a small way to support Sogorea Te’ Land Trust and their work to rematriate this land.
