Welcome! Thank you for your interest in my practice.

You deserve someone who is empathetic, non-judgemental, and feels safe to confide in.

I am immensely grateful to hold people’s stories and help them grow. Building a trustworthy alliance with individuals is the cornerstone of effective therapy. I strive to provide an environment in which you feel empowered to move towards living your best life.

In our work, we will collaborate on setting the pace of your treatment in order to create a space that fosters vulnerability and openness.

My Approach:

I hold a curious and compassionate lens while helping people unpack distorted beliefs, attachment patterns, maladaptive coping mechanisms, as well as heal trauma wounds.

I use a warm approach by incorporating empathetic listening, affirming communication, a non-judgmental stance, and often a sense of lightness and humor. I may also gently challenge you and ask difficult questions to help you explore perspectives that can expand insights and awareness. In this, my aim is to help individuals feel more empowered, attuned to themselves, and kinder to parts of themselves, even those that can be hard to accept.

I also take an anti-racist stance to acknowledge how systems of oppression impact your life and identity. Together, we will look to your life events, relationships, and culture to better understand how these components have influenced your thoughts, beliefs, emotions, behaviors, and overall well-being. In a sense, together we are looking at the fabric of your life to better understand how the various threads tie together for you.

What I incorporate in my work:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Psychodynamic

  • Relational

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Mindfulness

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapy

Sometimes I may incorporate EMDR in our work; this can be a powerful and effective tool to help heal the psychological and physical impacts of trauma. It is a multifaceted therapy that incorporates aspects of cognitive, somatic, and mindfulness techniques.

I acknowledge that I work and reside on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Chochenyo Ohlone peoples, who are the original inhabitants of Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area. As a non-Indigenous person occupying this land, I pay Shuumi Land Tax as a small way to support Sogorea Te’ Land Trust and their work to rematriate this land.
